Status Codes

All Boxes should have proper Status Codes.
Most Boxes that are Coded will wind up back on your truck, so it makes more sense to try and fix problems in the morning.
All packages that are not delivered must have a service cross on them.
Code

01

Customer Service Delay

This code is rarely used. It is only to be used when the driver is unable to deliver a package because of a security issue. You should always get permission before using this code.

02 Incorrect Recipient Address
Boxes with this code should always include an explanation as to why the code is being used (Moved or Closed, Incorrect street or Apartment number, Incorrect Street, Bad Zip Code) Many of the problems can be corrected by QA in the morning before you leave.

04 Recipient Not In

07

Residential Recipient Not In
This code is to be used when business are closed (before 6pm- after 6 a 27 will be applied). This code counts against you on your service numbers. All 04s used should be reported on your status code sheets as well as by calling Ken, Lisa or Erik.

This code is used only on residential deliveries when the customer is not home and the package requires a signature. It can also be used when the driver can not find a safe place to release the package (i.e. Apartment Buildings). This code is not to be used on businesses.

06 Package Refused by recipient 10 Inspection Required
This code will require a signature- make sure to get the correct name of the person refusing, as well as the reason for refusal. This is important because our shippers will want this information.   This code is to be used on damaged or open boxes. Many of the issues can also be resolved in the morning by contacting a QA rep.

12 Package sorted to wrong route 15 Hold for Will Call
This code can only be used on packages that are outside of your PSAs Zip Code. This code can not be used on any box that has your PSA zip code or a package that you have been specifically asked to take by management. This code should never be used simply because you don't want to take a box.   This is another code that should rarely be used, and only at a customer's request. It is usually used on a third attempt so the box is not sent back. You should always get permission from Ken or another member of management before using this code.

17 Misdelivered package : Picked up 18 Misdelivered package : Redelivered
This code is automatically supplied by the scanner if a misdelivered package is picked up the same day it was misdelivered and scanned by that same scanner. You are responsible for redelivering the package to the correct address, or rescanning the package and entering the proper statues code for the box if it is not being redelivered. No box should be left with a code 17 on it.   This code should be used when you redeliver a package with a code 17 on it. This allows the VSA to account for it at the end of each day.

22 No COD Tag 24 Call Tag / COD not ready
This code is used when the scanner asks for a COD amount and no COD tag is present.   This is to be used when a call tag box or COD is not ready. It is important to get a good signature and the person's name.

26 Return to Shipper 27 Did Not Attempt
Use this code when returning a box that was sent buy the person you are delivering to. There should be a red label with an explanation for the shipper as to why the package is being returned.   This code should only be used on business that are attempted after 6pm and are closed. This also counts against your service percentage and should never be used on a box just because you don't want to deliver the package. This code will be treated seriously by management. All 27s used should be reported on your status code sheets as well as by calling Ken, Lisa or Erik.

29 Call Tag Picked Up 82 Weather Delay - Attempted, Local Holiday - Attempted
This code should be used on all boxes picked up using a call tag- the scanner will prompt you for this code when you scan a call tag. 83 These codes should be used on only specific days when permission to use them has been granted by Fed Ex management. All packages should still be attempted. Remember all of these packages will need to be delivered, it makes more sense to get as many off your truck on the day you get them as possible. Misuse of the code (not attempting all deliveries) will be treated as a serious offense.
