Capitol Reef National Park encompasses the Waterpocket Fold, an uplift of sandstone cliffs with highly colorful sedimentary layers. The name comes from the dome shaped white cap rock that is near the Fremont River. The park also has an old Mormon settlement and fetching fruit orchards.
